LA EDUCACIÓN EN GRECIA.

En este tema vamos a tratar la educación de los niños atenienses, pero sólo de los varones, pues las niñas no pisaban nunca la escuela. Todo lo que aprende una joven ateniense -esencialmente las labores domésticas: cocina, tratamiento de la lana y tejido, y tal vez también algunos rudimentos de lectura, cálculo y música- lo aprende consu madre, con una abuela o las criadas de la familia. De hecho, las muchachas jóvenes apenas salen siquiera al patio interior de su casa, ya que deben vivir lejos de toda mirada, alejadas incluso de los miembros masculinos de su propia familia.
