RESUMEN
En la actualidad el uso de plantas medicinales es de gran importancia debido a sus múltiples propiedades terapéuticas. Entre las plantas menos estudiadas a nivel nacional es el Hiporuro, Alchornea Castaneifolia, la cual a pesar de tener múltiples propiedades antiinflamatorias y analgésicas, nocuenta con estudios científicos en base a sus efectos antioxidante y antitumoral.
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar las propiedades antioxidantes y antitumorales de esta planta, para lo cual se trabajó tanto in vivo como in Vitro.
El efecto antioxidante se comprobó comparando tres concentraciones de la planta en diversos extractos (etanol, metanol, diclorometanol), con unasolución de vitamina C. Con respecto al efecto antitumoral se trabajo con 68 ratones y una cepa de tumor P180 para analizar el efecto preventivo de esta planta.
Como resultados obtuvimos que hubo efecto antioxidante con el extracto de metanol a una concentración de 100 ug/ml. Mientras que el efecto antitumoral no fue significativo debido a que todos los ratones estudiados desarrollaron elsarcoma, por lo tanto no es útil como una planta preventiva o protectora a tumores.

ABSTRACT
The used of medical herbs and plants was and still is important due to its different therapeuticals properties. Despite the great deal of importance this plant deserves, there is not enough research.For example, Hiporuro, Alchornea Castainefollia, is a plant long used by people of the Amazon, and even tough it is known for its anti inflammatory and analgesic properties, there are not serious scientific studies that support these properties or potential toxic effects of its use.
This project objective is to establish the antioxidant and antitumoral effects. For this, we determined thisexperiment to be both in vivo and in vitro.
The antioxidant effect was established by comparing three different concentrations of the plant with Ethanol, methanol or dichloromethane with a solution of vitamin C. Regarding the antitumoral effect, we used sixty-eight mice and a tumor seeded (P180) to analyze the preventive properties of this plant.
