Effects of surgical abortion on women
Abortion means ending a pregnancy before the fetus can live independently outside the mother. The rate of abortion in the whole world has increased in animportant way in this last decade. That is something to worry about because women do the abortion, without knowing the consequences or effects that it brings. The main effects of surgical abortions are:infections, post abortion syndrome and future pregnancy failure.
A woman after abortion can acquire a lot of infections that can be mild or fatal. The typical infection is pelvic inflammatorydisease that produces a lot of pain in the reproductive organ that can last for the rest of their life. Women can even acquire infections for any rest of skull or limbs or because a perforation in theuterus. In some cases women need blood transfusions because a bleeding hemorrhage caused by the dangerous procedure of a surgical abortion.
Because of the dangerous procedure of surgical abortion, thechance that a later ¨wanted¨ child will die during pregnancy or labor is really high. That happens because the uterus is often scarred and the cervix undergoes tremendous stress and is often torn.Women wouldn’t only have future pregnancy failures; they will also have psychological and emotional effects which are really delicate.
When someone goes through a traumatic experience withoutprocessing the experience emotionally, they can experience a delayed negative reaction, that’s what happens in a psychological way after an abortion which is called post abortion syndrome. Women with thissyndrome can experience guilt that can be expressed by anger, they can feel anger with themselves, with the family with their friends and everybody surrounding them. The guilt can also be expressed bydepression and sadness; they currently feel that there isn’t a reason to keep living.
