We thought about how some animals protect their eggs and themselves from predators. So, we focused on making the predator could notopen the egg, creating a kind of egg based on the defense mechanism of ostrich eggs, which are so strong and therefore they are difficult to break, get inside and accede to thecontent; to implement it, we used medical plaster to cover the eggs, that's why they become extremely hard. But we need an egg stronger, so we found another bio- inspired method toget it, beeswax, which is used to create nests, on contact with air, the wax hardens. We represent that beeswax using rosin because this materials becomes hard the egg, so it is aperfect instrument to simulate the resin produced by bees. Also, we used skin texture of the fish, this is a defense mechanism that is based on their skin becomes more slippery,thus predators can’t catch them easily.
Another groups thought in animals like spiders, wasps and fruits to protect their eggs, using materials like melted sugar, nets and fruits orleaves to hide the eggs.
So, all of us thought about bio-inspired forms of protection and different kind of materials to implement it, but each had different ideas about howprotect and hide the eggs.
All of us had excellent ideas; my group did a good job with the eggs and how hides them, we shared many ideas and we got a final idea about making astrong egg giving priority to eggs cannot be opened, I think that was great because we can get more points. Another groups hid the eggs on leaves and stems, which was so good, becauseit is a good idea of camouflage, it seems like the eggs belong to environment, but if they hide all eggs and nobody find them, they will get less points and that would be pretty bad.
