EXAMPLE 1.INTERIOR BUTCHER’S SHOP. FX SOUND OF CHOPPING – SQUELCHY MEAT IS BEING CUT UP AND THROWN ONTO OLD-FASHIONED SCALES. IN THE BACKGROUND, CUSTOMERS ARE CHATTING. AN OLDFASHIONED BAKELITE TELEPHONE SITS ON A SHELF FX CLOSE, SOMETHING HEAVY LANDS ON THE SCALES
SCALES: Tripe! TELEPHONE: Pardon? SCALES: Tripe! I hate raw tripe – I can’t stand the sticky, sloppy,slidey feeling of it quivering on my scales. TELEPHONE: You may not have to put up with it for long. SCALES: I was born for greater things – the food hall at Harrods, that’s more my style! TELEPHONE:It’s no good dreaming – SCALES: Fine food laid elegantly across waxed paper – TELEPHONE: They’re going to close us down – SCALES: My scales shining, unblemished by – FX CLOSE: SLOPPY MEAT LANDING ON THESCALES TELEPHONE: Believe me, I heard – SCALES: Tripe.
