Heat is a form of energy.
The most impotant source of heat for life on Earth is the sun.
The heat from the sun also gives our planet light.
Heat comes from smaller fires too.
We can use fires infireplaces to keep our homes warm. We can use fire on the stove to cook our meals. Fire can also help us to manufacture goods because it can shape metal products and harden pottery
One of theinteresting things about heat is that it can move from one object to another. This is called conduction. Whenever we cook something on the stove, the heat transfers from the burner, to the pan, to the foodwithin the pan. Metal conducts heat very well. Pans are usually made of metal.
