Koran
The meaning of the Arabic word Koran is to “read”. However to truly understand the translation of the Koran it is important to understandthat the Qur'an not only serves as a deliverance of religious truths, but rather as a text outlining the ethical conduct Muslims are obliged to obey.The Koran has been presented in different forms to different Muslim societies. There are some independent sectors within Islam that choose tofollow only the Koran without conforming to any one particular branch of Islam. These believe that the Koran is the onlty source of truth and thereforeany different interpretations that may be made to the holy lecture within different such branches as “Sunni” or “Shi’a” would render it invalid.. Equal rights and obligations
According to the Quran every human being is equal in the eyes of Allah and that no person should be consideredsuperior regardless of social class, ethnicity, color or family background.
This idea of equality is best described in a verse from the Koran. Theverse states:
"Men! We created you from a male and a female, and made
you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other. To Allah, thenoblest among
you is the most righteous "4. (koran p229 49:13)
Applying this statement to relations between states it follows through to the fact thatno state should be considered superior to another, that all countries are on a par with one another and therefore all nationalities are equal.
