Violence exist in many different forms in our society. Unfortunately, many people believe that violence is the most effectiveway of solving the problems in our world this days. Children’s greatest exposure to violence comes from television. TV shows, Movies edited for television, web site, and also video games expose youngchildren to a level of violence unimaginable.

The violent content of TV includes more than just the 22 minutes programs sent down by the networks. Other people claim the violence seen on the media is not real, and that children understand this. Nevertheless, child watches anaverage of 8,000 televised murders and 100,000 acts of violence before finishing elementary school.

Busy parents who want to protect their children from media violence have a difficulttask before then. Violence appears on all major television networks and cable stations, making it impossible for channel surfers to avoid it.
