I talk to you in my last blog about the effects of the drugs in the brain and in our emotional and psychological health. Today I want to share with you about the effects or impact of thedrugs addiction on the family. Normally the people that have a drug addiction don’t recognize there problem. Is very hard to talk with this person because ‘’only the addict firmly believes he/she isright and the rest of you are wrong’’. For example, in my family I had an uncle that at twelve years old in one time he had problems with drugs. At a young age he had friends that influence andpressure him to use marihuana and later different drugs. My family try to help him and him do not recognize that have a problem. Later after fighting with his attitudes the family achieve that himrecognize the problem and accept to submit to a treatment and leave that practice.
In Puerto Rico the news presents many teen drugs addict that killed or attack their parents because they refuses to bringmoney to them. When this occurs the teens think that he has the reason and the parents are wrong. This is the effect of drugs on them. The consequences of this act for this young people are to passthe rest of your life in prison and the families suffer also paid the consequences with their pain. Also the family don’t want to recognize this problem because is very hard for them accept thissituation. For the family the hard part is separating your love of the person.
In my neighborhood I know one family that your son have problem to the drugs, specifically with marihuana. This boy began tohave problems in the school, with the friends and with the family. He is a good boy but the influences and the pression of his friends let him to use drugs. One day when I play basketball with him.He talked to me about his problem.
