The Great Gatsby 
 
     The Great Gatsby is a film based on the 1920 season in New York. 
Everything starts with Nicky, who is a humble man who arrives in New York with new 
opportunities, know your neighbor Gatsby, who is the protagonist of this film, a mysterious 
billionaire looking for his childhood sweetheart. 
      This story is based on the search of the lost happiness: He seeks the lost happiness that 
once felt for Daisy  but really he seeks happiness that long ago  feeling for her. 
In this film a story of love, infidelity, obsession, reinvention, alcohol and hypocrisy is 
discovered. 
 
     Leonardo DiCaprio plays Gatsby. He capture the character the  Gatsby, he puts part of 
himself in the creation of this billionaire obsessed with details and the construction of a perfect dream. 
 
      Mulligan acts of Daisy, a woman who manages to seduce all the public due to their 
fragility and tender voice, she takes over the character so that in five minutes you fall in 
love with Daisy, so confused yet so charming. 
 
     Tobey Maguire is Nick who is the narrator of this film, a humble man with good feelings is polite and very sociable outside, but not afraid to tell it like it is. 
 
 
     In the movie the characters make a small change in their personalities, Gatsby remains 
a mysterious character with people and become a more  confident character, he was tell all 
its truth to his friend Nicky, Nicky goes from being a humble man  with more personality and 
criticizes, the great Daisy becomes a woman with more character and disloyal to Gatby. 

      It is a extensive and tangled romantic film that has several conflicts. The difference of 
social classes, where the rich live in luxury and amenities including large costumes, modern 
cars, big parties, big houses facilities with pools, extensive courtyards, servants and the 
people poor use more casual clothes, antique car is clearly evident, small houses and few 
amenities. 
      The film is visually spectacular: the mansions are impressive, the parties reflect the 
debauchery and extravagance of the "Age of Jazz" dresses Daisy and costumes Gatsby, 
however, some scenes  I seemed too exaggerated use certain resources that all they do is 
remove seriousness and do all artificial. 
      The Great Gatsby is a film with many symbols. the colors. The yellow color is associated 
with wealth . The color blue is associated with wisdom, just the color of the glasses of our 
beloved Lord of owl eyes and the eyes of TJ Eckleburg .the green  relates hoping to keep 
that happiness that longs Gatsby. 
 
     "The Great Gatsby" seems too slow for some and too modern for others, but above all is 
a film worth seeing and enjoying. The beauty of this film is not at parties or in music. The beauty is in its elegantly decorated in the magical lighting scenarios and a solid composition. 

It invites us to fantasize and to pursue the green light of hope across the lake. 
 
     I really liked this movie because this movie teaches us is that we can not deny 
ourselves, and for that reason we should not try to convert others into something we are not. Pretender change only bring us happiness and lead us slowly towards our own 
destruction.
