Thank you for purchasing Hot Rod®: American Street Drag. In this game you can buy,
upgrade and race twenty different cars. The car’s styles were hand-picked by the
editors of Hot Rod magazine. Once you have purchased a car, you can race it on the
street or the drag strip for money, parts and reputation. As your reputation increases
new racing opportunities will open up.You’ll need to manage your time as well as your
money--both are very important to your racing career. Once your car has reached its
pinnacle you can race it in the Hot Rod: American Drag Race Tour for a chance to win
the big money and have your car appear on a virtual cover of Hot Rod magazine. At any
time, you can decide to sell your car and start fresh or put a second car in your garage
andbuild it up from the winnings of your faster car. The decisions are yours. Your
racing career is in your hands.

Installation Information

To install Hot Rod: American Street Drag, place the CD in yourCD-ROM drive. The
Auto-Run will bring up the installation menu and click Next when prompted. The game

will install to its default directory of C:\Program Files\ValuSoft\Canopy Games\Hot Rod
unless changed.
If the Auto-Run does not begin automatically:
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Run
3. Type D:\Setup.exe (where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive).

To run Hot Rod: American Street Drag click on Start, then Programs, click on Hot Rod
and finally select the Play Hot Rod icon or double click on the Hot Rod icon on your
desktop.
The Hot Rod: American Street Drag Main Menu screen has the
following options: Play Game, Quick Race, Options, High Scores,
Multiplayer, Exit and tips from the voice of Hot RodTV, Dave
McClelland. Throughout the game look for the picture of Dave
McClelland and click on him to hear tips to help you through the

Play Game

Click Play Game to start a Single Player
Game

Play Game begins a single player career. To
begin, you must first create a profile by
clicking on New Profile and typing in a name
on the profile screen (where theblinking
cursor appears). Press the Enter key when the
name has been entered. Player profiles are
managed here, where they can be deleted,
saved or loaded. After the profile is completed
click Next to go to buy a car.

The first time Next is clicked after creating a
profile, you need to buy a car. You have $5,000
to spend on a car and buy parts. There are 6
cars to choose from out of thetwenty cars in the
game. To view a car, click on it once and click
on the view car button to see the car in the used
car lot. Here you can use the mouse to rotate
around it for a 360 degree view of the car. Press
Escape to exit the viewing. If this is the car you
want to buy, double click on it and confirm the
sale by clicking Yes. The car you buy may not

be your dream car, but use it and build upon it to get to the ultimate ride. Then use the
winnings from that car to buy your favorite car or cars. At any time during the game you
may sell or buy a car. You never know what’s going to be on the lot, so if there’s
something special you’re looking for, check back weekly!
