A Pianist Survival Guide
The Pianist is a biographical movie who tells the story of a Jewish pianist called WładysławSzpilman and all his efforts for trying to survive the Holocaust searching for food and refuge.
This movie is based upon real facts, from the very beginning of the inquisition to the end of
thewar, where he was rescued by polish resistance. in his unforgettable and horrible journey
through the horrors of the SS which tortured and humiliated Jewish people. He was helped by
lots of friendswho needed to disappear because they started being chased by german police
for the reason that they thought this people was hiding and helping Jews , he was also helped
by some German officers (likethe one who saved him inside the ghetto, and the other at the
end of the movie who brought him food) mainly because he was lucky.
The main topic of the movie was to show all the horrors andinhumanity that man kind is
capable of, also it was to show all the efforts and resources that someone can develop while
being in extreme danger, and the perseverance of never falling down to continue untilyour goal
is achieved (in this case was to survive until peace was recovered).
By the way, why did the director choose a pianist and not another person?, that's because he
was only a pianist, anormal person, with a normal life like most of us and not someone special
like a president or an authority whose life was worthy to most people, in this opportunity that
was what it mattered. also thathe was most of the time at his own.
a remarkable fact was that Władysław, the main character, felt more like a pianist and not like a
Jew, as it can be seen through the whole movie where he startedimaging that he played piano
in the air which was like the only meaning of his life, when he played he relaxed and felt much
