El rey de las aves

Hace muchos, muchísimos años,
Zeus, el rey de los dioses, de los
hombres y de los animales, fijó un
día en el que todas las aves debían
presentarse anteél: su intención era
elegir la más bella de todas para que
fuera el rey de las aves. En cuanto
lo supieron, todas las aves fueron
a orillas del río para lavarse y
Embellecerse.Había grullas y faisanes, pavos
reales y águilas, alondras y garzas.
También estaba el cuervo que,
entre las demás aves, se daba cuenta
de su fealdad. ¿Qué podía hacer élcon un aspecto tan mísero?

“Para todo hay remedio”, pensó.
Fue a recoger las plumas que se
les habían caído a las otras aves, se
las puso y se las pegó. Ahora sí que
tenía unaspecto fantástico!

Llegó el día y las aves se
presentaron ante Zeus. También el cuervo,
con sus plumas de todos los colores.
Zeus iba ya a proclamarlo rey,
cuando se produjo un granrevuelo:
todos los pájaros, indignados, se
habían lanzado sobre el cuervo para
quitarle las plumas.

Y el cuervo, maltrecho y avergonzado,
tuvo que escapar.
“Todo tiene remedio esente mundo…
menos los engaños”.
Pensó el cuervo.
