The Equestrian competition at London 2012 is made up of three disciplines: Dressage, Eventing and Jumping. Each discipline requires different skills from the riders andhorses competing.

Hans Günter Winkleris the only jumper to ever win five Olympic gold medals and one of only four athletes to compete and win medals at six Games.
In an international career spanning 34 years, his most famousachievements came on Halla, the only horse ever ridden to three Olympic gold medals.
He triumphed at the Melbourne 1956 Games in both Individual and Team Jumping events – which were held in Stockholm – andfollowed this up with medals at each of the next four Games.
Winkler celebrated his 50th birthday at Montreal 1976, his final Games, and he marked the occasion with a silver in Team Jumping.

Reiner Klimke's six gold and two bronze Dressage medals over six different Games make him the mostdecorated rider in Olympic history.
At the 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games, riding Dux, he helped the West German team to win and retain Team gold. Four years later in Montreal, he again won Team gold,this time riding Mehmed.
Los Angeles 1984 saw Klimke’s only triumph in Individual competition, while he also took another gold as part of the Team event. His final gold medal followed in the Team...
