ELVIS PRESLEY.
ELVIS PRESLEY was born USA in 1935.
He belonged to poor family and his father Vernon was regularly employed, Elvis moved to Memphis when he became a teenagers. Here he spent much ofhis time with black musicians, learning a lot about blues and gospel music. In 1953 he paid to make a record for his mother’s birthday. His first local hit was that’s All Right in 1954.
He createda sensation in television by moving his hips while singing. Adults were shocked but teenagers love it. He was good-looking, wore rebellious clothes and had a sensual arrogance that makes him a perfectidol before he even song a note. By 1957 he was a national start, making huge hits such as, Hound Dog, Blue Suede, Shoes and Hearth broke Hotel Moving into 1957. Elvis Showed down, His own chance ofsongs for recording were mainly country and gospel numbers. The only hard Rock ‘n roll he recorded were the ones for the films ‘Loving You ‘ and ‘Jailhouse Rock’ which became one of his most famoushits.
Then in 1958, Elvis surprised everyone by joining the army. There was no necessity for him to do so but this was part of the plan to show that the world’s most popular singer was changing intoa more nature person.
He was known as the ‘King of the Rock’s’ Roll’ as he recorded 94 gold singles and over 40 gold albums. He also starred in 27 films.
By the mid-1960 he was being challenged byother stars such as the Beatles, but he continued touring and recording. In the last few years of his life he became obese and had problems with alcohol and drugs. He died of heart failure in 1977in his huge mansion in Memphis.
