APRIL/MAY 2010
A MessAge FRoM HenRY DeLeon, PResIDent
After a long winter of cold and snow, Spring is a time where the flowers bloom, birds sing and growth appears everywhere! Our company strategy is not much different than Spring - our hard work is starting to blossom and grow. To date, we are just about on target to get to tHe LAKe, which is veryexciting. Remember, EVERYBODY SELLS so get your field referrals in! One challenge that we must quickly overcome, however, is the fact that some of our properties are overspending their operating budgets. It is the responsibility of each employee to meet our goal of delivering to budget. I ask each of you, from the line team to Directors, to find ways that we can do things better, faster and cheaper, while maintaining quality. Additionally, I would like to announce that in the coming quarter, we will be hosting our first “Chat With the executive team.” In this chat, all of the executives will be available to all employees to discuss anything. Interested employees will just have to call into our corporate headquarters to speak personally with members of the executive team. I ask that each of youthink of ways that we can do things better to address our challenges and express your point of view to our executives. I would like to close out this letter by wishing every employee a Happy Easter Weekend.
essentIAL MAnAgeRs: MAnAgIngteAM! Boss CongRAts YoUR
by Victor Espinosa, Myrtle Beach, SC MAnAgIng YoUR FUtURe You are responsible for your career development and for being effective at yourcurrent job. Your boss and others can help you, but ultimately you manage your own future. Learning to manage your relationship with your boss is a key step to a successful career. Remember, she / he is only human and needs you as much as you need her / him. success creates winners When you and your boss share important values and goals, you are more likely to succeed in your job. First you mustunderstand yourself and what you want out of life and your career, and then ask your boss for help in working towards those goals. An experienced boss can teach you how to handle different situations well and help you accelerate your career. Do not be too proud to ask for and accept help. If you succeed, your boss has a greater chance of success. If your boss is successful, you will be seen aspart of a winning team and everyone likes winning. Quote of the month; “Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
