What makes some people more thanothers persist? How can achieve some wonderful results while others only reach the average? I believe without question that the key is persistence. For people like Lewis would not be easy to do what theydid, you would imagine that they had to leave some things they enjoyed (like sleeping late ...) to get up early every morning and start training. Not that they had something that made them different,something extra special, but eventually decided to do what they had to do even though it cost them. There is a difference. While others give up too quickly, they persisted until they succeeded. Therewere no tricks. There were no shortcuts. There were no short cuts to make the common and known but long road of trying again and again. Roads that made their minds so strong that it did not matter ifthey were 10 or 100 times the attempts, because all they had between the eyes was to achieve what they had previously displayed.
This persistence is what forms the great athletes and is the same asthe great leaders of history. They rose at a time when others could also rise. Moments others saw the same needs, however, did nothing about it, but decided to keep doing what they were doing and leavethings as they were, left to others what they would not do. It is for this simple but important reason that leaders are leaders. Because persist! Despite his feelings and perhaps annoying headaches...
