What is the nervous system?
The nervous system is the control and communication system of the body. Its job is to send and receive messages. Your nervous system controls all your thoughts andmovements.
The nervous system is a complex, sophisticated system that regulates and coordinates body activities. It is made up of two major divisions, including the following:
central nervous system -consisting of the brain and spinal cord.
peripheral nervous system - consisting of all other neural elements.

Central Nervous System (CNS)
The central nervous system (CNS) is the processing centerfor the nervous system. It receives information from and sends information to the peripheral nervous system. The two main organs of the CNS are the brain and spinal cord. The brain processes andinterprets sensory information sent from the spinal cord. Both the brain and spinal cord are protected by three layers of connective tissue called the meninges.

The Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)
Theperipheral nervous system (PNS) consists of the nerves and ganglia outside of the brain and spinal cord. The main function of the PNS is to connect the central nervous system (CNS) to the limbs andorgans. Unlike the CNS, the PNS is not protected by the bone of spine and skull, or by the blood–brain barrier, leaving it exposed to toxins and mechanical injuries. The peripheral nervous system isdivided into the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system; some textbooks also include sensory systems. It is also a part of the nervous system.

What are Neurons?
Neurons are cells thatmake up the brain, skeletal and nervous systems. neurons are essential cells of the nervous system, represent the anatomical and functional unit of the human brain are specialized to processinformation. They have an outer membrane that allows the conduction of nerve impulses and communicate with each other through connections called synapses.
