English And Media

I am going to talk about how media has changed people's way of relating to each other. First of all, I want to start with this phrase: “The media has accustomed to certain social strata to hear what-pleases the ears-." Juan Pablo II R.I.P. Media have had a quite negative impact on the society, changing the way that we interact, talk and think. I will explain some negative aspects that we havesuffered including some examples.

Thirty years ago, there were neither mobiles nor internet. Everything was more difficult, but our parents lived just like that. Before, people had good relationshipwith each other, without matter where they lived or what they had. They did not lived with afraid to be stolen or be murdered. All was more natural, quiet, sane, friendly between the society.Nowadays, with the arrival of media everything has changed. Fisrt, The language has changed radically. People are not conscious of their use of the language. I, as a communicator, know the mistakes thatusually people do. They do not know the meaning of the words, they just use them because have listened it in media and they think that their words are correct and sound beautiful. Most people do notknow how to write well and have poor vocabulary. For instance, there are around five thousand words in spanish, and a bachelor in colombia knows only eight hundred words.

Second, media changed thethought of people through sensationalist news. Usually they are bad news and always want to show news that have the major impact on our society. This can be seen in all news such as RCN, Caracol, CityTv, among others. For that reason, everybody feels afraid when we walk around the city because of we have listened bad news.

And finally, media has affected negatively the private life of somepeople, most of them famous people becoming topic for talk. For example, actors and actress, mayors, coaches, and others.
