Russell Crowe was born in New Zealand on 7th April 1964. His family moved to Australia when he was four years old.

WhenRussell was young, he visited film shoots with his parents. They cooked food for the actors at work and was very interested. He wanted to act.

At theage of six, Russell first appeared in the TV series Spyforce. Later, at the age of twelve, he acted in The Young Doctors. Then, at fourteen, Russell moved home to New Zealand. His father wanted himto finish school.

When Russell completed school, he traed lots of Jobs. He lso recorded some songs with a group. But he always wanted to be a filmstar.

His first successful film was The Crossing (1990) and over the next ten years Russell starred in eighteen Films. In 2000, Russell placed MaximusDecimus Meridius, a Roman General in the film Gladiator. It was a massive hit around the world. At the 2001 Academy Awards in Holywood, Gladiator was Best Film, and Russell Crowe was Best Actor.-------------------------------------------------
