English Lesson Plan Format
Lesson: Asking and Giving Directions
Material: Visuals of places, Vocabulary poster, Map, Name tags, Music Disc.
Method: Desuggestopedia1.- Introduction: New identities
T. explains to students their new identities, and students will stand up and introduce themselves.
2.- Vocabulary
T. says thevocabulary, so they can know the correct pronunciation. and ask some students to repeat after me.
3.- Street Map
T. shows a map to students, T. explains how to askand give directions (using the map) and T. gets close to the students so they can see.
4.- Peripherals
Visuals are posted on the walls; T. points at the visualsthat are similar to the ones on the map, but larger version. T. explains to them what each visual is.
5. - Occupations
T. assigns occupations to all of thestudents. The material: some name tags with their new identity names and occupations.
6.- Activity:
T. has students to stand up and ask directions to each other, usingthe map
Introducing themselves with their occupations.
7.- Presentation: The dialogue
T. writes the dialogue on the whiteboard (while students are asking and givingdirections to each other). then read the dialog a few times with different intonations, while the music is playing.
8.- Activity:
T. gives each student a visualrelated to their occupations; T. comes to each student and asks directions. and they will be giving me directions.
9.- Conclusion: Role play
After reading a few timesthe dialogue, students stand up and act the dialogue switching intonations.
