Mahani Teave is a native of Rapa Nui (Easter Island, Chile) andits only concert pianist. She began her piano studies there in 1992 when violinist Erica Putney arrived with the island’s first piano. Later, that same year Mahani met concert pianist Roberto Bravowho urged her family to move to mainland Chile so that Mahani could study with Professor Ximena Cabello at the Conservatorio de Musica of the Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia. After graduatingwith Highest Distinction, she furthered her studies with Sergei Babayan at the Cleveland Institute of Music, in Ohio, USA, where she received her Master of Music in Piano.
