Edgar Allan Poe born on January 19th, 1890 in Massachusetts, U.S. He wasa short-story writer, poet and critic. With his short stories and poems, Edgar Allan Poe captured the imagination and interest of readers around the world. His life, however, has become a bit ofmystery itself. And the lines between fact and fiction have been blurred substantially since his death. He was an expert in terror and suspense literature. Poe published his first book, Tamerlane and OtherPoems in 1827. In late 1830s, Poe published Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque, a collection of stories. His major works was The Fall of the House of Usher, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The GoldBug, The Tell-Tale Heart and The Black Cat. He died on October 7th it was said that Poe died of "congestion of the brain." but his actual cause of death has been the subject of endless speculation.In The Black Cat, Poe tell us about a man who had a passion for the animals. After get married he found a cat. One day he took the cat and pull out the cat’s eye because he was drunk and he doesn’tlike the disturbing look of the cat. He feels bad about it but the cat lost one of his eyes. After that he decides to finish with the suffering of the poor cat so he hanged him on a three. At night, whenhe was sleeping he woke up by a scream ¡Fire! Then his house was destroyed but he was alive. After the fire there was only a wall, it was intact. It can be recognized the cat’s silhouette on thewall.

He had a house, a wife, future projects, etc. but one day when he was going to a bar for drinks he found another cat and he decided to keep it and he bringsit home nevertheless this cat looks as the dead one.
