On January 31st a very bright man that would soon change the world was born. A man that did not believe in the negatives comments that others had and always tried his hardest. Hewas a man that would take a stand and defend others. He would be a great influence to many kids and young adults. His name was Jackie Theodore Robinson, the first black major league baseball playerever and a motivational speaker that would change the world we know today.
Jackie Robinson would grow up to be a very inspirational man but, the only way he would grow up to be the man we know isthrough his early life. Jackie Robinson was born on January 31st 1919, in Cairo Georgia. Jackie loved sports, but his brother Mathew was the one that inspired him to follow his dream. Jackie would alwayswatch Mathew play in the school that they went to which was John Muir high school and Pasadena junior high, but there were man problems with Jackie at both schools. Since Jackie was so focused onsports, he ended up getting very bad grades and they would not improve at all. Not only that, but Jackie was always bullied in school because of his race which led to many fights, but Jackie would not letthis entire problem stop him from achieving his dream.
In high school Jackie played many sports. He played baseball as a shortstop and pitcher. He played football as a quarterback and defensivetackle, and Jackie played tennis as a sender and a receiver. Although he is well known for baseball, Jackie’s favorite sport was football because he loved the aggression and anger it took out of him toplay. Jackie later got scouted to play baseball. The reason for being scouted was for the many awards Jackie received in high school. He won the championship MVP trophy.
