Too big to fail
In this film we see as the major American financial authorities are facing the crisis of LehmanBrothers, with their toxic assets. We see, urgently trying to avoid the source of the economic crisis that we now live, seeking a merger with other banks, until it is just unleashed.
The film focuses onthe actions of then Treasury Secretary, Henry Paulson to contain the disaster of Lehman Brothers, August 2008 to October 3, 2008, seeking a merger with national and international banks, until we areforced declare bankruptcy. In this film we saw that every person, firm, is very particular and even peculiar to negotiate, the result of work experiences, their relationships with colleagues, etc..Thus, each person involved in this issue of the financial crisis has its implicit theory of negotiation. In a more general case there are two: the traditional and interrogative, as in many parts of thefilm, there is a bargaining process, to emphasize the distribution of what is negotiated, under the assumption that what one gains the other loses, while on the other side were managed with trying toredefine the problem through an exchange of interests to get an extension of results for both parties. This may be an international trend in the various fields of negotiation.
Paulson and his teamnow have the money, but we found that the valuation of toxic assets will have to buy at least two months, and may not be reliable, as banks around the desire to reclaim their face value for them.
