Chile is a large and narrow country, which rarely made the headlines. It is known that Chile is a mining country, which produces the largest amount of copper in the world. But Chile is not onlycopper and minerals. Chile also has some of the most beautiful and contrasting landscapes in Latin America. Starting by its arid north, following by its fertile central zone, the exotic Easter Island, itsdiverse coast, its mountains and finishing with its freezing, humid south; all Chile is full of diversity. This is why Chile has become a unique destination for vacations. Accordingly, Chilean tourismindustry has increased its importance and it has become very attractive for foreign investment.

“It is impossible to roam the whole country in one travel, because of its geography and itsplurality. The most common and simple solution is to divide Chile into north and south. If you like icebergs, forests and varied flora and fauna, then the south is for you”. On the contrary, if you like sunnydays and desert, the north should be your choice. Anyway, both north and south you will find different kinds of food, people, fauna, landscapes, etc. So maybe you should visit both zones if you wantto get a complete view of Chile.

Chile has also a very rich culture. “It is said that Argentineans may be known as the philosophers of South America, but Chilean are considered its poets”. Throughits history, Chile has always had prominent poets, including two Nobel Prizes, Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. These writers and others like Violeta Parra, Víctor Jara, Isabel Allende and VicenteHuidobro contributed to the Chilean cultural heritage and to the Chilean tourism industry. Their houses, museums, and their belongings are visited by people from many different countries every yearand proves how much important is Chile in Spanish Language Literature.
