The Hunger Games

This is my essay on The Hunger Games, is an American science fiction film based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. The story takes place in a dystopianpost-apocalyptic future in the nation of Panem, where boys and girls aged 12–18 must participate in the Hunger Games, a televised annual event in which the "tributes" are required to fight to the death untilthere is one remaining victor.

For me, the main characters are; Katniss Everdeen: Is the protagonist of the series. She lives with her mother and, Primrose (her younger sister), in District 12, one ofthe poorest districts of Panem, which is charged with mining. She has a brilliant talent in hunting with a bow and arrow.
Peeta Mellark: He is the male tribute from District 12, picked alongsidePrimrose Everdeen (whose spot is subsequently taken by her sister, Katniss) to participate in the 74th annual Hunger Game.
Gale Hawthorne: Is an 18 year old boy who lives in the Seam of District 12.Haymitch Abernathy: He was the victor of the Hunger Games. After his victory, he became an alcoholic. He serves as a mentor to Katniss and Peeta

The protagonist, Katniss, volunteers to take heryounger sister's place in the games. Joined by her district's male tribute Peeta, Katniss travels to the Capitol to train for the Hunger Games under the guidance of former victor Haymitch. Katniss andPeeta are taken to the Capitol, where their drunken mentor, past victor Haymitch, advises them. He warns them about the "Career" tributes who train intensively at special academies and almost always win.The televised Games begin with half of the tributes killed in the first few minutes; Katniss barely survives ignoring Haymitch's advice to run away from the melee over the tempting supplies andweapons strewn in front of a structure called the Cornucopia. Peeta is allied with other tributes, to search Katniss as she takes refuge with Rue (other tribute). They kill Rue. Cato causes injury to...
