1. Who are the leaders of SLT?
The leaders of SLT are Harold Palmer and Horby.

2. What is the other name for SLT?
It isalso called “Oral Approach”

3. Why this method was created?
Because the British Linguistics had a necessity to create a more scientific approach for teaching a foreign language.

4. Namethe 2 key elements and why are they important.
SLT is based in two key elements which are:
* Vocabulary Control: important because in order for you to produce language you have to know the words.* Grammar Control: important because without syntax the words we uttered will not have any sense.

5. More important things to learn.
This method emphasizes in two skills: Vocabulary andReading.

6. What are the goals?
The main goals in this approach are for students to have the ability to respond quickly, to have an accurate pronunciation and grammar and last but not least thatpupils may be able to apply their knowledge.

7. Why in the method teacher does not explain in the new material to learn?
Because the teacher want students to deduct the new knowledge and forthem to assimilate it better.

8. What is the language used to teach it?
This approach was based in the only use of the target language.

9. What materials are used?
In order to realizesuccessfully this method teachers can use textbooks, visual aids, word lists and structural patterns.

10. What is the most important activity for this method?
For students to learn and also classescan be more dynamic we can use various activities such as dictation, oral practice, pair practice, controlled oral reading and writing.

11. Explain:
* Teacher’s Role: Active
Initiallyshe/he acts like a model, as a manipulator. Later, look for students errors.

* Student’s Role: Active
Initially students just listen and repeat; later the students participate in an active way....
