JOB INTERVIEW

MISS LINA: Come right in and have a seat. Good evening. I’ve been looking over your application. How did you find out about our job opening?

ANDREA: I saw your ad in the newspaper and it sounds like an interesting job to me.

LINA: Tell me about yourself.
ANDREA: I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. I attended the Ecci University and received my degree in ModernLanguage’s Professional. I have worked for 5 years as a financial consultant in Bogotá for various companies including Information and Technology Company, Colombia Telecomunicaciones and AT&T. I enjoy playing tennis in my free time and learning languages.
MISS LINA: Well we’re always looking for bright young people. I see that you have a lot of experience working as business document translator.ANDREA: Yeah I’ve done just about everything there is to do in sales.

LINA: I’d to ask you about your work experience. What made you decide to leave your job at the Information and Technology Company?

ANDREA: Well, it’s a family business and they don’t have any management positions available. I enjoyed working there, but now that I have me degree I want as more challenging position.

LINA:What did you learn form your last job?

ANDREA: I learned to manage business and I improved my English skills.

LINA: Could you please tell me, why did you leave your last job?

ANDREA: Yes, I feel I have the ability to perform well in a more challenging job. I’m the assistant sales manager but it doesn’t seem when I will get the opportunity to advance any further. Basically, I am notfulfilling my potential.

LINA: How long did you work there?

ANDREA: I worked for three years.

LINA: Can you tell me about your responsibilities at your last job?

ANDREA: I advised customers on financial matters. After I consulted the customer, I completed a customer inquiry form and catalogued the information in our database. I then collaborated with colleagues to prepare the best possiblepackage for the client. The clients were then presented with a summarized report on their financial activities that I formulated on a quarterly basis.

LINA: What have you been doing since you quit your past job?

ANDREA: I have been studying a French course because I like learning different languages.

LINA: What major challenges did you face? And how did you solve them?

ANDREA: Everysingle minute in my working place is always a challenge because you will be performing multi tasks and meeting different people. I handle challenge by simply giving most of my time in sharing ideas to anybody who needs it most. I also applying proper management. I always prioritize the most important tasks from the least one.

LINA: Do you have any special skills?

ANDREA: I am good alanguages. I speak German very well. Also I find selling very easy.

LINA: What is your greatest strength?

ANDREA: I work well under pressure. When there is a deadline, I can focus on the task at hand and structure my work schedule well. I remember one week when I had to get 6 new customer reports out by Friday at 5. I finished all the reports ahead of time without having to work overtime.

LINA:You have told me about your experience and qualities, what would you say is your main weakness?

ANDREA: That’s a difficult question. I am very competitive. To competitive if I don’t get what I want, I can get a little upset. I need to accept that you can’t always win in life, but it’s hard for me to do this. I think that’s definitely my main weakness.

LINA: What type of position are youlooking for?

ANDREA: I'm looking for a position in which I can utilize my experience.

LINA: What interests you about the job?

ANDREA: I am interested in acquiring new knowledge, have experience a new technologies and the applications of this company. I want to show my ability to solve problems.

LINA: Why do you want to work for Google Inc.?
ANDREA: After following your firm progress for...
