Radio host: here we are with Matt Groening and José Eduardo Guinle and we are about to discuss that episode that was been causing too muchcontroversy. Thanks for being here.
RH: Matt what were you thinking when you decided to make this episode about Rio de Janeiro?
Matt:Well, first of all, blame it to lisa, hasn´t been the first episode that criticizes a country, this is absolutely just for the viewers to havesome fun, and nothing against them. I was inspired in the romance comedy; blame it on lisa, and many other things that just trend in.
JE:Yes, but what about the image that you make about Rio, making people to think that Rio de Janeiro is actually a jungle, and that it is not agood place to come and visit.
RH: So you think that the episode did actually affect to the tourism in Rio?
JE: of course it did, those thathad already went to Rio have no problem, but the ones that haven’t think about Rio in a wrong way.
Matt: no, I couldn’t accept that, Ihave to say that I have nothing against Rio de Janeiro, but maybe that idea that you say people have because of my episode, is just an excuse,to undercover what people really think about the city.
RH: if I could just stop you there, jose, you said in another interview that theepisode did affect to the Rio tourist board.
JE: This episode affected a company or US$18 million that seeks to attract visitors to the city
