The Plain of Jars Conservation Workshop, was organized in collaboration with the Department of Heritage in the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICT), in Phonsavan, XiengkhouangProvince, Lao PDR.

This two-week course trained students from the national, provincial, district and village levels in site management and conservation techniques. Leading the instruction were Prof.Thongsa Sayavongkhamdy, who lectured on the subject of Cultural Heritage Management and Legal Frameworks regarding Cultural Heritage; Ms. Lia Genovese, who presented The History and Archaeology of thePlain of Jars; and Mr. Simon Warrack, who is taught the group about the nature of stone, how it is formed and decays, and conservation approaches in theory and practice.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
