ANGELES MASTRETTA
Angeles Mastretta (Puebla, October 9, 1949) is a Mexican writer and journalist. It is known for creating evocative female characters andfictions that reflect the social and political realities of Mexico. She is married to fellow writer and political analyst Hector Aguilar Camin. His major novels are: Tear This Heart and Lovesick.
BackgroundWe place the Mastretta input the letters when you begin typing as a reporter for the Mexican magazine "Seven" and the evening paper "Ovations." She claimed that her father - who was a journalist inhis youth - had inspired him to devote himself to writing.In 1974, he received a scholarship from the Mexican Center of Writers. By attending this center he could work on their writing skills alongwith other well-known authors among them Juan Rulfo, Salvador Elizondo, and Francisco Monterde. After a year of work in the Mexican Center of Writers, published a collection of poetry, which wasentitled The slut looks.Thanks to these works, the famous writer founded and organized groups such as Women's Union Antimachistas in Mexico City, which have a large social support. It's award-winning SocialEagle, in Porto Alegre in 2005. In 2004 he wrote the first book titled comedy laughter.
The novel
What I really wanted to pursue Mastretta was a novel I had been planning for years. Finally he gotthe opportunity to work on it when a publisher offered to sponsor him six months to devote himself exclusively to writing. She gladly accepted the offer and completed sabbatical Tear This Heart. Thenovel, published in 1985, was an immediate success and won the Mazatlan Prize for Literature 1986.In 1997 Mastretta won the Romulo Gallegos by another of his most acclaimed novels, Lovesick (publishedin 1996).When her youngest daughter became ill unexpectedly, Mastretta sat near the small hospital and began to tell stories of interesting and different women in his family who were important in...
