Should teens be able to play violent video games?
My opinion:
More and more kids are playing video and computer games, especially violent ones that are mostsellers. Research shows that children are also in te actual days spending a lot of time playing them: an average of 13 hours per week for boys and five hours for girls.
I think that this isdangerous because for example Many studies done on violence and video games support the conclusion that violent video games can increase aggressive behavior in children and adolescents, especially boys; ananalysis of 20 years of research shows that the effects can be immediate and lasting long term.
Those sources make the APA (American Psychological Association) began cooperate so that there is lessviolence in the videogames, publicity or anything that can influence in the behavior of the teens and persons in general, this in my opinion is because kids of our age still doesn´t have like thisjudgment to stop what this games do to ourselves.
This videogames make that after the teen or the children play it, his brain had an stimulus that make them think or make aggressive things, the games seta bad example and can be particularly influential because a player takes the role of heroes and villains, violent and good ones. Of course in the violent videogames the more usual roll to take is theviolent and villains.
Of course the ones who are more against this studies that prove that teenagers who play violent videogames can be violent too, are the game development community. One suchnaysayer is Doug Lowenstein, president of the Entertainment Software Association.
