Definition: Dance is the form of action or dance to music. Dance is one of the oldest art forms of humanity and in many cultures has a symbolic, ritual and representative value. The dance is performed for recreational, social, religious and artistic motifs. Some of the elements are a dance rhythm, movement, body language, style and space.
History
Since prehistoric times man has had theneed to communicate bodily, with movements expressing feelings and moods. These first rhythmic movements also served to ritualize important events, such as births, funerals, weddings, etc.. In principle, the dance was a ritual component, held in fertility ceremonies, hunting or war, or of different religious nature.
Types of dance
There are several types or styles of dance. Generally includecommon features such as expressiveness, flexibility and coordination of movements with the rhythm of music in all of them. Although some are international, usually originate in a location and specific time and are associated with particular culture. Below is a generic classification of the different types of dance is presented:
classical dance
In this category the classical ballet,contemporary dance and dance characteristics of the Middle Ages ( for example, the tarantella ) , Baroque ( or as the minuet minuet ) and the Renaissance ( the perky , for example) are included. Many of them are characterized by making smooth , elegant , coordinated and harmonious movements .
folk Dancing
Also called traditional . They are popular dances associated with particular culture , withelements such as clothing , type of music and musical instruments used . Examples include Aztec dance and flamenco.
modern dance
Those very own dances twentieth and twenty-first during its peak between youth groups and are part of Western culture, especially in recent years . With the development of many new technologies spread and they spread through film , television and the internet . Some ofthem are identified with a particular decade and a musical style. Examples are breakdancing and shuffling .

La danza o el baile es una forma de arte en donde se utiliza el movimiento del cuerpo, usualmente con música, como una forma de expresión, de interacción social, con fines de entretenimiento, artísticos o religiosos. Es el movimiento en el espacio que se realiza con una parte o todo el cuerpo del ejecutante, con cierto compás o ritmo como expresión de sentimientosindividuales, o de símbolos de la cultura y la sociedad. En este sentido, la danza también es una forma de comunicación, ya que se usa el lenguaje no verbal entre los seres humanos, donde el bailarín o bailarina expresa sentimientos y emociones a través de sus movimientos y gestos. Se realiza mayormente con música, ya sea una canción, pieza musical o sonidos y que no tiene una duración específica.
Dentro dela danza existe la coreografía, que es el arte de crear danzas. La persona que crea coreografía, se le conoce como coreógrafo. La danza se puede bailar con un número variado de bailarines, que va desde solitario, en pareja o grupos, pero el número por lo general dependerá de la danza que se va a ejecutar y también de su objetivo, y en algunos casos más estructurados, de la idea del coreógrafo....
