 Amy Jade Winehouse (London, September 14, 1983 - ibid, July 23, 2011) was an American singer and songwriter of Jewish origin, known for its mix of various musical genresincluding including soul, jazz, R & B, rock & roll, and ska. He was known for her contralto vocal range was described as "acoustically powerful" and capable of expressing "deep emotions".

In 2003 Winehouse released her debut album, Frank, which received positive reviews and was commercially successful in their home country, the UK, and was nominated for the Mercury Prize awards.Her second studio album, Back to Black, was published in 2006. For this album the singer won six Grammy Award nominations, of which won five, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year and BestNew Artist.
After this event Winehouse won the record for the first woman to win the most awards in one night and be the first British artist who won five Grammys. In turn this meant that Winehouse wasin the media spotlight, getting involved with their hectic personal life.

In February 2007, she won the BRIT Award for Best British Artist. He also won a World Music Award and three Ivor NovelloAwards, among other prestigious awards. Winehouse was credited as an influence in the rise of detonating the popularity of women involved in music, soul music and British music empowering.

Winehouse received media attention through no fault of his voice. His distinctive style, tattoos and beehive hairstyle, the convertieron a source of inspiration for some fashion designerssuch as Karl Lagerfeld. His constant legal problems, his addiction to drugs and alcohol and medical complications from self-destructive behavior were a source of headlines from 2007. The end of his lifeended when he was found dead in his apartment on July 23, 2011 at 27 years of age, after suffering a shock from excessive consumption of alcohol after a period of abstinence.
