The Chronic bronchitis
Chronic bronchitis is an inflammatory disease of the respiratorybronchi associated with prolonged exposure to respiratory irritantsnonspecific, including microorganisms andaccompanied by mucus hypersecretion and certain structural alterations in the bronchi, suchas fibrosis, cell desquamation, hyperplasia of smooth muscle, etc.
The symptoms are the presence of coughthat produces sputum for at least three months a year for more than two years.1 may occur with or without blood and leads in almost all untreated cases to respiratory failure, edema of the extremities,particularly the feet short and simple chronicbronchitis pulmonale.2, which presents no obstruction that would not go into the concept of COPD.
