Spain is located in the Southwest of Europe. There are more than 45.900.000 people living today. The capital of this country is Madrid, which has the largest population andgeographical space. The official language in Spain is the Spanish, but many people speak in Catalan, Galician, Basque, and others. Catholicism is the predominant religion in the country but there are people withother beliefs. The currency of Spain is the Euro currently.
In Spain there are many celebrations throughout the year, such as Easter, Labor Day, Hallowmas, Christmas Day, which are also held inother parts of the world. Also celebrated Winter Season, Carnival, Easter, Spring Festivals, Summer Festivals, and others festivities.
To beging with the typical food of Spain we can start in the area ofthe North, with its Asturian bean stew, cod pil-pil Biscay area and the Octopus "a feira" typical of Galicia, then go down to Segovia to taste a good lamb roasted and in Madrid you can not miss theMadrid stew. In the East, in Catalonia you can have good bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil. Continuing to the south, specifically in the Levant and in Alicante and Valencia we have the paelladish. Abandoning the peninsula, in the Canaries we find the potatoes with a sauce called mojo.
Spanish music is often considered abroad to be synonymous with flamenco, a West Andalusian musical genre,which, contrary to popular belief, is not widespread outside that region. Various regional styles of folk music abound in Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia, Castile, the Basque Country, Galicia and Asturias.Pop, rock, hip hop and heavy metal are also popular.
