ESSAY: EUROPEAN ECONOMICA CRISES.
At the beginning of the last decade, in March 2000, the heads of state of the European Union announced the Lisbon Strategy. His goal for 2010 was to make Europe a"most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based, capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion". This would create "the conditions for full employment andstrengthening regional cohesion in the European Union".
Now the international financial and economic crisis has brought to the surface all the unresolved contradictions of domestic and foreign policyin Europe. In the conflict between the U.S. and China, which increasingly dominates the world stage, Europe is being pushed to the limit and divided.
German and French governments are bitter thatWashington decided to widespread expansion of the war in Afghanistan without consulting its NATO allies. On the other hand, do not want to leave this strategically important region only under U.S.influence, on the other, they fear that they could become mere agents of the United States in a war that increasingly is intensified. Until now the common currency has prevented widespread devaluation accompanied by an increase in inflation, but the high value of theeuro, coupled with rising interest rates make it impossible for the Eurozone countries to overcome the crisis on the basis of the free market . Brussels has responded asking for draconian cuts ingovernment spending, particularly in the social sector.
