Essay of education
The process of Education arises from the human necessity to survive in their environment and the growing as a culture. It may be formal or informal, the formal education is when you take part in the process by which teachers instruct student incourses in a school, and the informal education is when you get knowledge, skills and experience to function in their culture. In this type of education we use the process of socialization because to acquire knowledge we have to communicate with others to transmit it, that’s why we called “informal education”, these two types of education help us to build a culture with a permanent grow.
Theword education comes from the ethimology educates: “bring to the light”, means that all humans has to discover their capacity hidden inside and enrich it. So as teachers we must help to get the student’s enlighten to reveal all the potential that we have. To make this, we must consider in education first, learn to know: get the skills, experience, learn to do: apply the knowledge, learn to be:become a better person and learn to share: pass it to others. When you do all these you’ll be transcendental in life, because you are going to live in the person’s knowledge.
THE ROLES OF THE TEACHER
The teacher has different behavior in front of a group:
Controller: The teacher is in complete charge of the class
Assessor: See how well they are performing, feedback and error correction.Organizer: Giving instructions and setting up activities
Prompter: suggestions, discretion, help students only when is necessary.
Participant: Improves the atmosphere, performing activities.
Resource: Communicate activities, offer help if is needed.
Tutor: Provide advice and guidance
Facilitator: Low profile, delegate responsibilities, student owns achievement.
Investigator: The teacherdevelops his/her own skills
These kinds of behavior can be used in different occasions, the teachers must adapt to the needs of the group to perform the kind of teacher who works best for their learning, also, we can combined several roles at the same time, taking the must important things of each role for a better technique.
How to be a good learner:
Different factors can be taken to consider thequalities of good learners, the most common factor was the practice, some children practice more than others but what about those children who become expert even when they do no t practice much, maybe is important the desire to learn too. There are two kinds of motivation: Integrative: when you want to integrate into a culture, and instrumental: those who were are learning as a means to an end(get a better job). One of the main task of a teacher is to provoke interest and involved in the subject even when student are not initially interested. Teachers are not however responsible for their student s motivation, they can only encourage bye word, real motivation comes from individual. The students should take responsibility for their own learning because students who are prepared totake such responsibility for their own learning are good learners. Learning is a partnership between teachers and students, so as teachers is up to us to encourage students to take charge of their learning.
Successful students own some or all of these characteristics:
A willingness to listen: listen to the English that is being used
A willingness to experiment: they are prepared to take risk, totry things
A willingness to ask questions: The urge to find why
A willingness to thing about how to learn: Invent their own study skills
A willingness to accept corrections: Prepared to be corrected if its help
If these are good learner qualities, is part of the teacher’s job to create at atmosphere which shows students that the experimentation and questions are welcome.
