What do I think about my family?
As a Hispanic, to me a family is composed not only by a mom, dad, and children. Also by aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. We include everyone, I know.
My parents got divorce when I was four, since then I’ve been living with my mom. When I was thirteen, I tried to live with my dad and it didn’t work. I realized that I couldn’t live without my mom. Whenthey got divorced, my mom, my brother and I moved to my aunt’s house. My aunt lived with her two daughters. Later on, both f my grandparents moved with us. They wanted to live in the city and they needed both my mom and aunt to take care of them. By that time my family was composed by eight people. A lot of people, I know. But I got used to it because they always treated me well. When I was six, many problems were going on. My aunt and mom owned a supermarket, one of the best in my city, and some other businesses in other cities. My family lost a lot of money; I can say that we almost lost everything we had. We were not that one of the richest families anymore, but that taught us a lot. Because we valued more what we had. We struggled for a couple of years, but we remained strong andtogether. I guessed that’s what made us start all over again. This time instead of a supermarket we have a restaurant, which now it’s one of the best in the city.
On the other hand, my dad never left us alone. He was always there for us, giving support and love. I know he made mistakes, but I can’t judge him. My mom taught me so many things and one of them is to never judge and to forgive. From mydad side I have three siblings, which I get along with all of them. My mom loves them too; believe it or not we all get along. When I was in Peru, my dad used to invite us over the weekends to his house and we all used to sit at the same table. I call my stepmom “aunt”, my mom taught that it was disrespectful if I would had called her by her name. My dad’s children call aunt to my mom too, so we areall used to it.
I know I have one of the weirdest families, but I love them no matter what. They had taught so many things. Such as, to never give up, to always dream, to fight, to have FAITH and to forgive and love. I’m proud of them because they will never give you the back and because they will always be there for me no matter what.

What do I think about religion?
Many people think thatreligion is a belief in something. To me religion is more than that. I was born in a catholic family, but I changed into Christian when I was eight. For many years I did not take that religion serious, but since I came to this country my thoughts and belief had changed. Even though I do not follow the rules now, I have learned a lot of it.
First of all, my senior year I have made new friends. Many of them have a different religion than me. That’s why I have learned so many things about other religions. Such as Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Christian. We all believe in the same God, but we call him different. The question is: Do we all follow the same laws given? For Muslims, Allah is their God, the Koran is their bible and they don’t believe that Jesus is God’s son. For Catholics andChristians Jehovah is God, Jesus the son and Mary his mom. However, Catholics adore Mary and some other people “saints” and Christians only respect Mary. But which is the right religion?
Consequently, many people say that they belong to a religion, but what is the point of being in a religion if we don’t follow the rules given by the religion. It’s not only about going to church every weekend, or saying Ilove God when your actions shows the opposite, or reading the bible every night when you don’t even understand it. What’s the point of saying I am “…” if you don’t even know what is the meaning of it.
Concluding, I know for a fact that I’m not a religious person, but I should be. Because, I believe that if I don’t follow the rules I will end up in hell. However, as a teenager I just want to...
