ESTRATEGIAS DE SUBSISTENCIA DE LA COMUNIDAD ACHÉ YPETÎMI DEL

RESUMEN

SUMARY

En la comunidad Ypetîmi, distrito de Aba´í,
Departamento de Caazapá se llevó a cabo esta
investigación del tipo descriptiva con enfoque
cualitativo, no experimental de diseño
transversal, con el objetivo de caracterizarlas
estrategias de subsistencia de la comunidad
Aché, estos datos se obtuvieron a través de las
herramientas participativas del DRP, como el
calendario estacional, mapas de fincas, árbol de
ingresos, entrevistas semi-estructuradas, notas
de campo y la observación participante. Los
datos obtenidos expresan que actualmente
existen cinco formas principales de obtención
de alimentos que están insertosdentro de tres
dimensiones que son: los alimentos que
provienen del bosque: la caza, la pesca, la
recolección; los alimentos agropecuarios
producidos en el hogar: el cultivo de rubros
agrícolas y la cría de los animales y por último
el acceso a alimentos provenientes de la
compra de alimentos; además las familias
obtienen sus ingresos a través de la venta de
maíz pyta, maíz chipa, poroto, soja,trigo,
avena, girasol, canola y cerdos, gallinas, patos.
En cuanto al sistema productivo, realizan
cultivos en faja, asociación de cultivo, siembra
directa y labranza mínima, también realizan
rotación de cultivos. Los rendimientos de las
cosechas son bajos debido al ataque de plagas y
la baja fertilidad de los suelos. Para la caza de
animales
no
utilizan
trampas,
están
acostumbrados a realizar lacaza selectiva de
animales, y para la recolección utilizan bidones
de cinco litros y una artesanía típica que se
llamada Nokõ.

This investigation took place in the Ypetîmi
Community  of  the  Aba’í  district  from  Caazapá,  
it is a qualitative research and it is descriptive.
It is non-experimental and it has a transversal
design. The main objective of the investigation
was to characterize thesubsistence strategies of
the Aché community, the productive system
they use as well as the technology employed by
them to hunt and collect animals. The data was
obtained through participatory tools of the DRP
such as: the seasonal calendar of productive
activities,   properties’   maps,   incomes’   tree,  
semi-structured interviews, field notes and
participant observation. The informationgathered shows that, currently, they have five
main ways to obtain food which can be
classified into three dimensions, these are: food
that comes from the forest: hunting, fishing
and collecting; farming food produced at
home: growing plants and crop and breeding
animals; and finally the food that they buy;
besides, families get an income by selling corn,
beans, pigs, chickens and ducks; and by
growingand selling products like: soy, wheat,
oat, sunflower and canola. Their productive
system is as follows: they make stripping crops,
associated crops, direct sowing, mininum
tillage, and crop rotation. They do not obtain
good return rates from the harvest because of
the pest attacks and the low fertility of the soil.
To hunt animals they do not use traps, they are
used to hunt animals selectivelyand
domesticate them when they are still young. To
collect animals they use a five-liter jerrican and
a traditional craftwork called Nokõ.
