Selecting the research method is an important element for the research process. The research methods for this project were mainly qualitative through questionnaire with teachers (see appendix A) andclassroom observations of documentary evidence (see appendix B) in order to gather background of teachers’ experience and attitudes.

Two main research instruments were used during this study. Aninitial questionnaire was given to English teachers. The questionnaire was applied after doing some observations with a group who was not part of the sample. The questionnaire was designed to be easyfor teachers to answer, with several questions of written responses. Two questionnaires were answered, so it was a relatively small sample.

Based on the information collected from the questionnaireand the classroom observations three different categories were founded: methodology, language and material.

The use of methodology during English classes is essential but it is important to pointout that children with learning disabilities do not always acquire skills in the normal developmental sequence. No single method will be effective for students with learning disabilities. Most of themwill benefit from the application of a variety of methods. For that reason, instructors need a repertoire of instructional methods for their English classes.
During the observations there were twoimportant aspects, the first one is that teachers do not use a specific method or strategies to teach English to children with learning disabilities, and the second, is that there is not a teacherspecialized in the area.
According to Lee Swanson (1999) there are two major intervention practices that produced large outcomes. One is direct instruction. The other is learning strategy instruction.a. broke learning into small steps;

d. used diagrams, graphics and pictures to augment what they were saying in words;
