Education in the United States

In the U.S. there is no national system of education. The Federal government does not administer the schools. Each State has its own Department ofEducation, which sets the rules for schools. Public colleges and universities receive funding from their State.

Each state sets academic standards, local school districts decide how they teach thesubjects are: English, Math, Social Studies, Science and Special (Music, Art, Physical Education and Foreign Languages).

Most American children begin attending school at the age of 6 years and 6 years ofeducation completed Primary. Then they go to high school, which consists usually of two programs of three years a "Junior High School "and" Senior High School ", respectively. Americans call these twelve yearsof primary and secondary grades twelve. A grade is one academic year begins in August or September and ending in May or June. Public education is free in the Elementary and Secondary Education forcitizens and residents U.S. Some families enroll their children in private schools, which can be private, religious orientation or military academies.
