(Precambrian)
The time from the moment that originated on Earth to
initiation of the Phanerozoic, including Archean and Proterozoic Eons. This time
Earth's history isabout 87% of the age of the planet and
represents almost 8 times the length of the Phanerozoic.
The term Precambrian with the usual one used to designate
this extended period is stillconsidered useful prefanerozoica although lacking the value
formal category.
The study of rocks and Proterozoic Archeozoic provides valuable
information on the early stages of the formation of the earth, the origin of their
atmosphere and hydrosphere and the characteristics of the most primitive oganismos
inhabited.
DIVISION
In recent years, research prefanerozoicos land is
increasedsignificantly, but not enough to allow development of a
stratigraphic division thereof which has worldwide acceptance. The
identification of major orogenic cycles and the main stages that have transited organic evolution, filled with radiometric dating,
underlie the methodologies used in the preparation of the divisions
proposed.
The initiation of the Archean Eon Arquezoico or goes back tothe time of
origin of the Earth and therefore sola5r system, an event occurred does
about 4,600 million years, while the corresponding Eonotema starts with
oldest known rocks, whose ages rangebetween 3,800 m by
therefore no geological documentation of the first 800 m of
Earth history, time for which names have been proposed such as
Priscoano and Hadean.
ARQUEZOICO – PROTEROZOICO(PRECAMBRICO)
