“For more than sixty years Jerusalem has been divided by conflict, violence and injustice… all attempts at lasting peace have failed.”Israel is considered as a sacred land, it is the place where Abraham lived and many events explained on the bible take place in this country. It is looked upon as an ancient paradise with itsattractions, that tell us stories about the past, and its marvelous landscapes and attractions. Furthermore, Israel is for some religions the most desired place on earth, which many people wish to visit.However, if we examine the land of Jerusalem in a deeper way we can realize it has other aspects than just a beautiful façade. Besides being a cultural and historical place it has intern conflicts thataffect the wellbeing of the community. The most claimed conflict is the Palestine-Israel conflict which has already existed in Jerusalem for more than sixty years. Hopefully, there exist nowadaysconscious people that try to solve this issue in order to have a peaceful environment and a harmonic society in Israel.
Some people describe Jerusalem as a divided city; where some communities that livereally close to each other have no interaction at all. They never meet even though they live minutes away, and the reason is because of the conflict. Palestinians don’t want Jewish people in theterritory and this is a selfish way of thinking because Israel is the sacred land of the Jewish and it has always been known as their home. I don’t mean to say that Palestinians are the strangers in thisplace but I think that they could and they should share the terrain. Learning to share can be the start of the solution for the conflict. By learning to live together and to get used to the idea thateveryone has the same rights can be a good way of bringing back peace to Jerusalem.
