Poverty in Ecuadorian society
Ecuador is one of the world’s most poor countries, and certainly one of the poorest among the American continent. There are not enough jobs that satisfy a decent formof living leading to extreme poverty in the country, and the government is not interested in improving the society because of the lack of a well-structured education system and the lack of new jobs. Isthe government avoiding the improvement of the Ecuadorian society for citizens to remain poor and/or ignorant so that government maintains total control over the people? I believe that this ispartially accurate because it is true that some politicians want the population to remain ignorant so they can continue to take advantage of the system and keep corrupting. But I also believe that is notcompletely the government’s fault or corrupt politicians, but rather the insufficient opportunities to actually improve ones life because there are no jobs and no chances so people just remain poor.Considering Ecuador is a third world country, its society is certainly under developed so much of its population is not educated and may even lack any kind of education, not even primary. But it iscontroversial because the people say that they want a better life style and they cant get it because there are no jobs and because politicians are corrupt they do not want them to improve and they statethat these politicians want all the governments money for themselves rather than helping the people; while politicians say that they are trying their best but sadly the resources they have at theirexpense are not enough to do so. As a humanitarian I think this issue affects me because I dislike poverty and I think everyone should live a descent life, although not having the sufficient resources tomaintain a god lifestyle. I believe the most important issue government was created for is to take care of its citizens therefore, providing roof, bread and water should be they’re main concern.
