Name of City, location and its History

Our city name is Waterland , this name was chosen for the city done that it represents the situation in which the city was build. The city had to bebuild with certain characteristics for it being able to survive underwater.

The city started as a small village located on the north coasts of Nederland. Netherland is a country in which agreat percent of its land is under the sea level, so when the poles started to melt down done to the climate change, the sea level started to rise and most coast lands around the world startedto flood. Netherland coast were the first to be affected. This northern village knowing what was about to come instead of leaving this place and going to higher land which would not flooddecided to stay. That’s how this village started to prepare themselves for being able to resist underwater. Their advanced technology made them able to build constructions which allowed them sosurvive under water. With the complete melt down of the poles, this village was completely covered by the sea. People from this village rather than leaving their place of origin decided toadapt to the new conditions. That’s when they named their new under water city as Waterland.


Technological Innovations

- Breathing Technology: Instrument that each person needs to useon its mouth in order to breath.
- Source of electricity: They developed turbines which are placed outside their buildings which are moved with the sea currents. With it they are able toproduce electricity to supply each house of the city. A great importance of electricity is that they need to supply with artificial light to the crops done that underwater the crops don’treceive the suns light.
- Sea Water Purification Machines. The need for fresh water for the people to drink and for the crops irrigation made them construct machines that purify salty water.
