It is easy to support the arts because most people believe that a vibrant arts program is key to the quality of life for local citizens. Quality of life is a major factor in recruiting new employees. Most art groups are nonprofits that provide tax benefits to those who give to them. A business may givemoney, services, or products, or it may sponsor an event. Sponsoring an event is not the same as making a gift. The business receives a public relations benefit by having its name linked with the event, whereas a gift may have no obvious benefit. Both forms help the arts. A business may also support the arts by buying and displaying art in its facilities.
