1. Steps for loading the OS when using RAIDCore: For complete details on how to
implement this code, access our knowledge base located at Ciprico.com..
a. Vista Business and Enterprise 32 / 64 bit, use the AHCI driver that is
included in the distribution CD. Once the OS is installed, run the
RAIDCoreinstaller to have it take control of the onboard SATA ports.
b. Windows 2008 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter 32 / 64 bit, use the
AHCI driver that is included in the distribution CD. Once the OS is
installed, run the RAIDCore installer to have it take control of the onboard
SATA ports
c. For all Linux kernels use the AHCI driver that is included with the kernel
distribution CD. Once the OSis installed, run the RAIDCore installer to
have it take control of the onboard SATA ports.
d. For Windows 2K3 32 / 64bit, create a driver disk from the RAIDCore
release CD and use it to install the OS.
e. For Windows XP 32bit 64bit, create a driver disk from the RAIDCore
release CD and use it to install the OS.
NOTE: For Windows XP SP1 64bit, contact Ciprico Tech support to
request adriver.

be integrated into the system board BIOS. This will be resolved once the
motherboard vendors integrate the option ROM into the system boards.
3. With VST 2008, disk initialization can delete your OS if you are booting from a
Legacyarray. Please verify that you have not included the OS legacy disk when
initializing disks. Initializing disks with valid data present will cause data loss.
4. VST 2008 requires that you have Service pack 2 for Windows XP and 2003 32-bit
and 64-bit on your installation media if you are loading the RAIDCore driver at
OS install time. Without the appropriate service packs, you may encounter a...
