Service Learning is an important partof the education of Lincoln students. In keeping with the vision and mission of Lincoln School to stimulate students to develop their potential and make a positive difference in the world, allstudents are required to participate in meaningful Service Learning experiences that add value to themselves and their community. Through these experiences, students learn essential values such asresponsibility, open-mindedness, empathy, commitment, and citizenship. Students should follow this procedure to fulfill the Service Learning requirement this year.
Initial reflection:
Before youwrite your project proposal, reflect on the following questions and write your answers on a separate piece of paper:
• What does service mean to me? How do I define it?
• Whichaptitudes, special talents, or qualities can I bring to this project?
• What are my limitations? Are things that I feel uncomfortable doing?
• Which community or population would I like to helpand why?
• What do I expect to learn about myself and others by working on this project?
